The PKRA (Professional Kiteboard Riders Association) is proud to announce another page in PKRA history. It is the first time a PKRA event will be hosted in the African continent. Tomorrow world-class freestyle and wave riders will fight for the Essaouira Kiteboard World Cup 2010 event title in Essaouira Bay, Morocco.
Riders from more than a dozen nationalities made their way to the beach to register for their chance to compete against the best kiteboarders in the world.
Essaouira will also host the much-anticipated first event of a whole series of this year’s wave tour season. It has been nearly two years since the last wave event, which was held in Chile, South America. The PKRA proves once again its status as the only Professional World Kiteboarding Tour by expanding its reputation year after year.
Morocco is known for its abundance of world-class right-hand point breaks. The surf spots along its 3500kms of coastline fire from heavy northern Atlantic swell energy.
The mandatory riders’ meeting is scheduled for 10:30am.
It will be an unforgettable freestyle and wave competition, so keep up to date with all the latest event information as well as live competition results on the official kiteboarding world tour website: www.prokitetour.com.
