The International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) is aware of the press release published by the GKA, the association of the kiteboarding industry, from December 26, 2015.
Already in March 2015, IKA had offered the Professional Kite Tour (PKT) a more than reasonable contract that would have allowed competitions conducted by PKT under IKA sanctioning. For reasons now known to IKA, PKT has chosen not to reply to IKA's offers and instead seek to go it's own way.
IKA very much appreciates and values the input of the industry and has included the industry in a recent questionaire on rules and developments for all kiteboarding disciplines in the 2016 Kiteboarding World Championships.
It is however important to note, that GKA is in no position to take any decisions regarding world kiteboarding competitions, only World Sailing and the International Kiteboarding Association can take any such decisions.
The 2016 Kiteboarding World Championships schedule as well as the Notice of Race and the rules and juding system applicable are expected to be published in early January.
