Here are the latest Association News
As announced earlier this week, the International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) will conduct the Kiteboarding World Championships in 2016. All disciplines will see a full series of events, and the World Champions in every discipline will be crowned at the seasons finale.
The International Sailing Association (ISAF) has confirmed in an official press release (http://www.sailing.org/news/41325.php
) published on Wednesday, 14 October 2015, that IKA has the sole rights to hold the world championships of its classes. Beside of Racing, the discipline with Olympic aspirations, ISAF has also clearly confirmed these rights for the classes which are running the Freestyle, Big Air, Wave and Slalom disciplines.
The first events of the 2016 season will be announced shortly, and the dedicated 2016 Kiteboarding World Championships website containing all relevant information like schedule, rules, judging and ranking systems, will be launched as soon as the important discussions with the various stakeholders of the sport have been finalised.
We would like to thank the riders, judges, organisers and industry representatives who have shown their support for a fair and transparent world championship throughout the last months. We wish the PKT luck with their own events, and we look forward to creating a magnificent 2016 season with the official kiteboarding world champions being crowned at the IKA Kiteboarding World Championships.
