This week the KTA have been over at the 4th Asian Beach Games in Thailand.
The Asian Beach Games were held first in Bali, Indonesia, the second at Muscat, Oman, and the third in Haiyang, China. The fourth edition of the Asian Beach Games is being held from November 14 to 23, 2014 in Phuket, Thailand. Scene of course of the KTA’s own Christmas Race Special last year.
As you travel around Phuket you will see a kiteboarder standing out on many of the Asian Beach Games flags and banners, unfortunately though it’s not actually part of the event. Hope though for the future as the 5th Games being planned for 2016 in Vietnam has kiteboarding under consideration, hence the KTA visit to this year’s event for a few wee talks and introductions behind the scenes.
Kiteboarding you would hope would be a natural choice for the Beach Games and it could include freestyle as well as race disciplines depending on the country and locations. Certainly the plans for the first World Beach Games targeted for 2017 are already has kiteboarding among the list of Games sports in its early PR output, which you can check out on the following link – http://www.sportaccord.com/en/what-we-do/world-beach-games/
