With all the foil board vs formula debates and foil kite bans about to be debated at the IKA, the forums and rider opinions are raging. So the Hong Kong Race Centre decided it was time to skip the talk and remind themselves that its not all about racing and championships. Instead, freeside race board sessions were high on the menu this weekend.
Cruising and tricking with your friends on those light wind days is the other side of the race board phenomena. Race board freestyle, it’s time to invent at Shui Hau Wan, Hong Kongs main kite beach location.
With Hong Kong having more than it’s fair share of light wind days the Race Centre remains an active part of the local scene, with most local riders over the past couple years taking the opportunity to take a race board try out session.
Hong Kong has its serious racers too of course with riders from the country having competed in the Asia Tour and at the World Championships, but for now its all about the freesride. Lets see then how the numbers and tricks improve over the coming winter.
