Event Officer Certification Programme

Written by Editor on . Posted in News

The IKA has introduced an event officer certification programme to further raise the level of judging and race management.

Every IKA sanctioned event has to meet certain criteria for the number and qualification of event officials working on that particular event. The event officials are categorized into judges (including normal judges and head judges), and race officers (including principal event officers, race directors and contest directors).

The new IKA event officer certification programme is free of charge and only relies on the qualification of the applicants.

To become an IKA recognized international event officer, please apply directly to your national class association, or use this form.

An online test to certify your skills in the scope of race management will be available soon, as well as a database listing all recognized event officials. This shall help organizers around the world, which are not working with recognized tour operators, to find qualified event personnal.

The IKA and its partners will also organize seminars on a regular base to qualify event officers. The next seminar, imparting the theoretical skills for race and contest directors, is to be held in Ghent, Belgium, end of February 2010.
