Asian Continental Kiteboard Tour sanctioned for 2009/2010

on . Posted in News

Kite Tour AsiaA new continental kiteboard tour has been sanction by the IKA to commence at towards the end of this year in Asia. The competition tour will be known as the Kiteboard Tour Asia (KTA) and has been approved at the continental tour level.

The KTA tour will be the first of its kind in the Asia region and aims to highlight the growing kiteboarding scene there, promote the opportunity for the more local riders to gain the experience of international competition and perhaps act as a springboard towards higher levels of the professional tours in the future. The KTA is open to both Asian and non- Asia riders and will result in two outcomes with both KTA Tour Champions and the first Asian Champions.

Through the IKA sanction riders competing in the KTA will be able to gain points towards their overall world ranking positions as the tour will be conducted under the IKA approved rule system.

The KTA will launch with its first tour stop at the beginning of October 09 in China and then move on to Hong Kong, Vietnam, the Philippines and Thailand to finish there in March 2010. This will see the tour operating throughout the stronger wind monsoon months in Asia.

For further information and to contact the KTA about the tour as competitor, media, potential sponsor, spectator or other interested party please visit the official KTA website www.kiteboardtour.asia
