World Ranking Point Calculation 2013

Course Racing events

The ISAF grading criteria for events will be applied. Details can be found here.

Points towards the world ranking are calculated as follows:

X = F x (N+1-Rank)/N

Explanation:

X = Ranking scored by a competitor at an event

N = number of competitors

F = Basefactor (200, 100, 50 or 20)

Slalom Events

X = F x 100 x (N+1-Rank)/N

Explanation:

X = Ranking scored by a competitor at an event

N = number of competitors

F = Basefactor + pricemoney/100000

Freestyle and Wave Riding Events

X = F x P / 10

Explanation:

X = Ranking scored by a competitor at an event

P = Points for finishing place as outlined below

F = Basefactor + pricemoney/100000

  1     1000
  2     885
  3     790
  4     710
  5     650
  6     610
  7     585
  9     530
13     485
17     440
25     400
33     360
49     320

World Rankings from 2011 onwards

The points which each competitor has scored within the last 12 months will be added separately for each discipline. The actual ranking position will be based on the sum of ranking points. The competitor with most points is the first.

The ranking list is a continuous system. After 12 months the points are deleted.

Number of events counting for the world ranking per discipline

Freestyle: best 7 results in the past 12 months

Course Racing: best 5 results in the past 12 months

Slalom: best 3 results in the past 12 months

Wave Riding: best 3 results in the past 12 months

After the last competition of a year the points collected before 1stof January of the corresponding year will be deleted and only points of the ongoing season will be valuable for the end of the season ranking and to detect tour winners and world champions.
