European Course Continentals Day 1

Written by Editor on . Posted in News

Charles Deleau, Bruno Sroka (both France), Fabienne D'Ortoli (FRA) and Steph Bridge (GBR) have all won one out of two races each and are leading the 2009 European Course Racing Championships

In difficult wind conditions two races were completed on day one. After the first skippersmeeting of the event the fleet was sent out to the beach, but the wind did not play ball in the beginning. At 15:00 there was a first chance with winds of around 10 knots to get the nearly 100 competitors on the water. But unfortunately after 20 minutes the race had to be abandoned as the wind dropped down to 8 knots.

The fleet was sent on standby, and as the wind picked up around 17:00 to app. 12 knots two races were completed back to back.

Due to a high number of protests against competitors that did only finish one round we are not able to present the final results of the first two races but hopw to report them as soon as possible together with todays results.

Racing continues until Sunday with daily racing from 10:30 on.
