The first Asian kiteboard and tour champions have been crowned at the KTA finals in Thailand. Taking the men’s title for both the tour and the Asian championships in race and freestyle was Thailand’s own Narapichit Pudla Yo. For the women the KTA tour champion went to Germany’s Kathrin Borgwardt, while Hong Kong’s Hill Sui lifted the Asian championship title.
Despite the upcoming event of the KPWT on Jamaica, the Jamaican Kiteboarding Association has chosen to join the IKA and work together for the future and the benefit of the sport
The KTA Finals are underway with the course racers kicking things off - two races completed this afternoon with wins in both races for the men from Renaud Madier (FRA, Cabrinha) and in the girls side of things Aye Oshima from Japan took the first race with Kathryn Borgwardt (Germany) in first place for the second. The start of the mens freesytle has also just started so the first few heats will be tucked away before the end of play.
