The PKRA (Professional Kiteboard Riders Association) is proud to announce that a Freestyle and Wave kiteboarding event in Essaouira Bay, Morocco has been added amongst the amazing list of tour stops this year. It will be the first time in PKRA history that a world cup event will be held in the African continent, making it a total of five out of seven continents in the world the PKRA will travel to this season, Asia being the first, Europe the second, North America third, Africa fourth, and Australia fifth.
An award ceremony was held late this afternoon at the event site where numerous amounts of spectators stood to watch as Andy Yates (Slingshot, AUD) stood proudly on top of the podium grinning from ear to ear as he received recognition as the men’s Mondial du Vent 2010 single elimination Champion, as well as his first PKRA title.
The Kiteboard Pro World Tour (KPWT, official name: Globe Pro Firm LLC), a limited liability company based in Delaware, USA with its management in Brasil, served a court injunction on the International Kiteboarding Association ( IKA), a not for profit International Association based with headquarters in Germany, on the 15th of January, 2010.
The court order was to prevent the IKA from making statements about the validity of KPWT events.
