Speedsailing Outright World Record smashed again ?

Rumors are out that Rob Douglas (USA) is holding the Outright Speed Sailing World Record now with an incredible 55.65 knots. The womens record has been smashed as well with the first women over 50 knots being Charlotte Consorti (FRA) at 50.43 knots.

All Speeds are subject to WSSRC ratification.

Will ISAF Select Events That Will Attract YOUTH & MEDIA For the 2016 Olympic Regatta ?

In respect of what makes sailing exciting, it is the general public who are the judge and the jury.

The message that they give is the one that should guide ISAF when selecting events for the Olympic Regatta.

If you ask a passer-by on a beach, whether kiteboarding is the same as windsurfing, he would not understand the question...

The differences are so obvious that the question is obsolete !

Will ISAF get trapped by political concessions regarding the Olympic Games 2016 ?

A lot has been written about the ISAFs Olympic Commissions report and the resulting Executive Committee submission in the last weeks.

There is no doubt that the Olympic Commission has done an outstanding job by firing the first bullets on some of ISAFs holy cows, however there is still a huge risk that the final decision makers inside ISAF fail half way up the hill.
