Written by Editor on . Posted in News

Here is an excerpt of an article recently published in a New Zealand magazine:

Yachting New Zealand boardsailing coach Dave Robertson has declared kitesurfing ready for Rio, insisting criticisms of the fledgling Olympic class are ignorant talk.

Robertson has returned after New Zealand's first official dabble into the new Olympic sport, at the kiteracing world championships in Italy.

He was one of five Kiwis competing, finishing ninth in the 153-strong men's fleet in what was a highly useful reconnaissance mission. Justina Sellers was 10th in the women's fleet.

Reminder: Register for Sail Melbourne to secure important qualification points for the 2013 Worlds

Written by Editor on . Posted in News

Sail Melbourne is just 6 weeks away - the first ISAF Sailing World Cup which includes kiteboarding.

The ISAF world rankings consider every riders top 6 results in the past 12 months - and the four Sailing World Cups (Melbourne, Miami, Palma, Hyeres) are the highest scoring events, with 200 points for the winner each.

The 2013 IKA Course Racing World Championship will have limited entry, and the selection will be strictly based on world ranking standings. The best way to ensure participation in the 2013 worlds is therefore to collect points at the Sailing World Cups.

Registration for Sail Melbourne can be done here: http://eventoffice.com/sm/team_product_selection.asp
