Over the past few months Markus Schwendtner of the International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) and Robbie Dean of the
American Kiteboarding Association (AKA) and St. Francis Yacht Club (StFYC) have analyzed the data from Sailing World Cup
events and from our own kiteboarding fleet racing events.
Noting the successes and shortcomings of our past testing as well as feedback from our sailors, there will be an
introduction of an experience-based format and scoring system at the upcoming IKA major events, starting with the North
American Championship being hosted by St Francis Yacht Club, June 3-7, 2013, followed by the South- and Middle American
Championship held in Bonaire, June 11-15, 2013, and the European Championship at Hang Loose Beach Italy, July 23-28,2013.
The registration period for the 2013 European Kiteracing Championships, held from July 23-28 at Hang Loose Beach in Gizzeria, Italy, ends on May 30, 2013 - which is in only 3 days.
Registrations received after the application deadline will only be accepted with IKA approval and are subject to a late fee.
More than 70 registrations have been received so far.
The application form can be found at http://www.internationalkiteboarding.org/index.php/course-racing/events/upcoming-major-events-registration/european-championships/application-form
Make sure to register in time - the European Championships are the last 100 pointer event counting for the 2013 world championships in Hainan, China.
