The sun came out in full force and raised the mercury up to 26° Celsius (78.8° F), literally warming up Playa de Sotavento. True to its reputation, this magnificent location abounds with beautiful beaches, sunny weather and very strong winds packing an average speed of 25 to 35 knots.
Extreme kiteboarding action unfolded as the ladies started the day’s competition at 12:45 pm. Lighter winds, yet still strong, prevailed during the first half of the competition which ranged between 18 to 28 knots but with stronger gusts coming through every so often.
We are happy to welcome another full member to the International Kiteboarding Association. The CBK (Confederacao Brasileira de Kitesurf) represents top level riders in all disciplines and will add new color and quality to the development of kiteboarding.
