The worst case scenario has happend.
I was already dealing with a lot of pain at the ISAF Trials in Santander. After I got back to Fuerte I made an appointment for an MRI scan. I just got the results and they are not good.
I have a severe herniated disc at L5-S1 (see the picture) that is pushing on the root of the Sciatic nerve.
It's lucky that I know this early as there should be very little residual nerve damage after the OP (lets hope so anyway) and I should make a full recovery.
I fly out of Fuerte to Frankfurt on Saturday and will be in the Hospital right after Easter for the OP.
Fingers crossed I should be back on the water in time for the KTE Germany.
