Ozone News:Johann Civel - End of Winter Sessions

Written by Ozone on . Posted in Industry News

Hi everyone,

winter is almost over…the days are longer so it’s time to make the kite tracker XC contest (max kilometers up and down…but not always at the same place)

So a few days ago, I spent 10 hours in the mountains reaching all the summits I could and skiing as much as possible couloirs and steep faces…So record is OK now with 3 summits around 3000m high, 4 different steep faces, 8 different couloirs with a total of 15 400m ascent and 140 kilometers!!

I was using my 12 Summit and the 8m Ultralight Summit…Have a look on the tracks here!!

I’ve also just spent 2 days now in the south of France, in Camargue…back on the water!!! I had all conditions in 2 days… playing with my 7m Reo, the 11m C4 and the Chrono 15 and my HB surfboard.

First day I had good wind, people were kiting with 8 or 9, I was feeling perfect with my 7 Reo…I managed to land so many strapless tricks…usually I just crash…The Reo is perfect, you can loop easily one hand, this kite is just the extension of your arms…

The day after, I woke up in the morning, a gentle breeze was blowing…people on the beach and nobody in the water…it was the good timing for the Chrono…8-10 knots was enough to cruise along the beach with my HB surfboard…people were stoked to see me ripping with so light on shore wind and waves!!

After the wind picked up to 20 knots, I changed kite to my C4…and carried on strapless tricks as long as my body could :)

So happy to be back on the water…June will be perfect, and now, let’s go to the Ocean for chasing waves!!

See you and have good times
Johann Civel
