Ozone News:Ozone SnowKiteMasters Event Round Up

Written by Ozone on . Posted in Industry News

Hi everyone,

we are just back from our event www.ozonesnowkitemasters.com at Berninapass/ Switzerland. It’s been an amazing time and great to see everyone again and also new people turning up. Although we were based at Berninapass and wanted to do all competitions there we moved down to Silvaplana on the first day - thursday for a day racing on the lake as the wind conditions where perfect there and no wind at Bernina. As the Swiss Snowkite Tour took place there anyway the whole OSKM fleet joined and we had about 40 people racing together. It was very light wind and time for the all new Chronos to show their potential once again.

Five races in total that day with deep powder got all the legs burning. Dom won all the races in the ski category and only got beaten by Kitesurf Race Worldchampion Flo Gruber in the last race. Romain Luppi, Matt and Murphy had some good battles in the snowboard category with Luppi becoming first at the End. Matt and Murphy 2nd and 3rd. All participators enjoyed the perfect organization from the SSKT and fair plays from the riders so the first day was a full success ended late at night in the Bar/ Lounge in the Hospiz.

Friday morning looked very promising to start the Best Line Competition with clear sky and some southerly winds. By the time the briefing was due the weather was closing in and the visibility was gone making climbing the mountains too dangerous and impossible. The riders were out anyway and chasing for the max speed to win the Tracer H3 Watches speed contest. It was spectacular to watch the riders taking speed downhill to accelerate and reaching top speeds from almost 100km/h! At the end Flo Gruber nailed it on skies with the 12m Chrono getting up to 97km/h. Didier Botta got up to 92km/h on a snowboard!!!

Saturday was a day off as there was no wind so everyone meat up for the price giving and final party at the Bernina Hospiz in the evening. The next morning the weather and wind was just great and most riders stayed for a great freeride session till the wind died out in the afternoon made leaving this magical place easier…

We are all stoked and happy about the event and will set the date for the next years OSKM pretty soon and hope to get even more riders to join in…

Check out more pics and videos on the website www.ozonesnowkitemasters.com and stay tuned!

Cheers Team Ozone
