Slalom world championship tour PKRA 2013

The 2013 PKRA season will be really exciting with the introduction of the slalom discipline on the PKRA World Tour.  With six events and over $60,000 in prize money over the season, the chase for the world championship is bound to be exciting.  Slalom racing is one of the most entertaining sports to watch on the water.  This will be the first year that an ISAF/IKA slalom world title is granted after multiple events, and the PKRA will ensure it will be as successful as the PKRA freestyle tour. . Having a six event series will ensure that the best slalom racer in the world wins and that the competitors will be able to tune their gear for every event. 2013 will be the premiere season of slalom racing on the PKRA and will be run with an open gear format.  This means that racers are not bound by any gear restrictions and each racer is able to optimize his gear.

\"slalom\"

The Kiteboarding industry completely support the PKRA in the development of Slalom Discipline, as it  is the perfect testing ground for the development of the perfect free-ride and slalom gear.
One of the great things about slalom racing is that all the riders are close together, spectators always know who is winning and what it will take from the rest of the fleet to take the lead.  The action will be close to the beach whenever possible making it fun for the spectators and the riders.  The fact that this is a new discipline will give the opportunity  for new riders to test their skills in a new format and to make a name for themselves and their sponsors.

In 2013 the slalom discipline will be represented on five continents and six countries.  The first two events of the season in Mexico and Turkey will be dedicated slalom events with $10,000 in prize money per event.  The organizers are very excited about the opportunity to introduce this new discipline and see a great future in it. Having events around the globe will give the opportunity for riders from all over the world to prove themselves on the world stage.  Conditions will be very different at every event, giving the competitors a chance to test their gear in a variety of conditions.

5 - China Nov-12-2013 - Nov-17-2013

The PKRA is always leading the kite surfing industry with the latest trends in freestyle, racing and now slalom.  The development of the slalom discipline will make for some of the most exciting kiting and racing around.  The freestyle discipline is where it is today from the interaction between the riders in the organizers of the PKRA. The PKRA is always looking for ways for the sport to evolve with the vision and the feedback of the riders.  After every event feedback will be gathered from all the competitors and implemented at the next event, in the search for the perfect slalom format.
