No Racing at day three of the IKA Course Racing Worlds

Written by Editor on . Posted in News

The 40 competitors from 14 nations were welcomed by an unusual wind direction today. Blowing side-offshore, the wind was very gusty and never reached suitable strenght throughout the day to allow for official racing.

For most of the competitors it was a heartly welcomed day off from the past two days which saw six races on day one and another four races on day two.

Time as well to see something more from Texas than only the competition grounds, with the ongoing Texas Extreme Sports Boat Show in town and a classical rodeo in the evening not a bad choice.

The leaderboard remains unchanged with Adam Koch (USA, Ozone, 11 points) clear in the lead ahead of Damien Leroy (USA, Cabinha, 16 point) and Bruno Sroka (FRA, Cabrinha, 20 points). One more race giving the thirs discard of the event could still change the results, so fingers crossed for Sundays final races.

In the womens fleet, Kari Schibevaag (NOR, Ozone, 9 points) sits pretty safe in first and could reach a perfect score with one more bullet. Second is last years world champion Steph Bridge (GBR, North, 13 points) followed by Kristin Boese (GER, Best, 29 points).

The 2010 IKA Course Racing World Championships come to an end on Sunday 25, with more races and the price giving ceremony in the evening, crowning the new 2010 world champions.
