From 24th – 27th July the Kitesurf Tour Europe, official European Championships in Kiteboarding Freestyle, will kick off at the Hang Loose Beach in Gizzeria Lido. At the same time we are more than happy to be part of the "Aloha Beach Party".
This stop will offer the disciplines Freestyle men and women, Formula Racing men and women and Twin Tip Racing. In Freestyle we will welcome great Italian Riders like Stefano Martinelli, Gianmario Coccoluto or Gabriele Garofalo, who showed his skills last year the KTE in Scheveningen.
So far the current European Champions Mario Rodwald and Sabrina Lutz, both from Germany, are not on the registration list, which means that there will be some new European Champions crowned in 2014. Paula Novotna, World Tour Rider in Freestyle, will attend the event in the south of Italy after a knee injury during the winter and will attend her first event in 2014. European Champion Freestyle 2012, Annelous Lammerts, will now get the chance to fight for her “old” title. Also the Course Racing fleet will be of the highest caliber – World Champion Florian Gruber will use this event to show his skills and get prepared for the upcoming World Championships in Turkey. Winner of the KTE Event in Germany, Riccardo Leccese, is again one of the favorites of this event, next to Spanish Rider Alejandro Climent Hernandez. During the KTE in Gizzeria the Hang Loose Beach also hosts the famous “Aloha Beach Party”, where about 40.000 people will be expected during the 4 day event. The various side event will include Happy Hours, Beach Party, DJ’s and some great action from Red Bull.
We look forward to the event next week and can’t wait to crown the new European Champions in Kiteboarding Freestyle.
