The Expression Disciplines currently include Freestyle, Big Air, Wave Riding, Strapless Freestyle and Park. Competition is judged on difficulty and execution rather than "first past the post".

Kiteboarding has been included in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games with a boardercross event on IKA TwinTip:Racing equipment, for boys and girls born between 2000 and 2003.

The Formula Kite class is the only afforadable solution for emerging and developing nations to compete in high performance classes and ticks all boxes of the IOC requirements, especially for youth and media appeal.
Twin Tip Racing is a great discipline to get to know some racing rules and techniques. On Sylt you can get the chance to take part at the Twin Tip Racing, which is only on Saturday and Sunday!
The Twin Tip Racing will be an open class. Twin Tip boards and all kind of kites will be allowed to take part at these races. The competition will take part only during the weekend – Saturday and Sunday with a maximum of 4 races a day and a wind limit of 10 knots. Within this fleet the local Organizer and the KTE Management will provide Wildcards for partners and sponsors. The entry fee for the Twin Tip Racing will be 40 €. This fee includes the dinner on Saturday night, party entrance and an Event-Shirt, which needs to be worn during the race.
