The GoldCup tour is the sports premium event series with events all around the world and a strong focus on media production and prize money level.
The Expression Disciplines currently include Freestyle, Big Air, Wave Riding, Strapless Freestyle and Park. Competition is judged on difficulty and execution rather than "first past the post".
World Sailing, IKA and GKA have agreed to share the responsibilities for the Expression Disciplines with the Open World Titles awarded through professional tours.
Kiteboarding has been included in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games with a boardercross event on IKA TwinTip:Racing equipment, for boys and girls born between 2000 and 2003.

As of today as we publish this news item riders from than 40 countries from across the globe are converging on the Chinese island of Hainan at King Bay to begin their final preparations and pre-event training before the competition begins. Before this however the event will kick off in style with what promises to be an exciting and interesting opening ceremony which those of you have competed in China before will know is quite a different experience to the start of most kite events.
The IKA 2013 World Championships are being hosted and sponsored by King Bay with the full endorsement of the Hainan and Qionghai local governments and support from the Chinese Yachting Association (CYA) who’s own race officers are joining the international ISAF and IKA teams to provide the event race management.
