Builder's Information for registering new equipment

Written by Editor on . Posted in Articles

Since 2012, only registered production equipment is eligible for any IKA sanctioned Formula Kite course racing event. Formula Kite is the equipment currently proposed for inclusion in the Olympic Games, and also used in the Sailing World Cup.

Please contact the IKA office for registration details for new "Formula Kite" equipment.

The key of the new registration system are a yearly registration deadline with 10 pieces of equipment readily build by that date to complete the registration process, as well as the requirement for unique plaques (numbers will be provided by IKA upon request).

The new Formula Kite Class Rules allow the usage of registered production Hydrofoil systems.

The next registration deadline is 01 June 2016. By this date, all paperwork must be completed and proof of 10 pieces built per size provided.

The list of registered equipment as well as selected measurement data will be published on 01 July 2016.

Newly registered equipment will be eligible for racing on 01 September 2016.

For further information please contact the IKA office.
